JUDAICA LIBRARIES

Many Judaica library collections are now on-line and can be easily accessed via TELNET. In order to properly view the "Hebrew" listings in these on-line catalogues, you will need Hebrew screen emulation.
Kermit 3.14 now fully supports Hebrew screen emulation and can be obtained from Columbia University: on campus in 102 Philosophy; off-campus call: (212) 854 3703 or e-mail Kermit@columbia.edu; technical support call: (212) 854 5126.
After installing Kermit 3.14, at the MS-KERMIT prompt type "Hebrew" to activate screen emulation for that session. If you wish to have Hebrew screen emulation whenever you enter Kermit, edit the MSCUSTOM.INI file adding "Hebrew."
For additional, detailed information regarding ALEPH see the Hebrew University-Library Services "Aleph English Guide."
Bar-Ilan University = aleph.biu.ac.il Ben Gurion University = bgulib.bgu.ac.il Haifa University = lib.haifa.ac.il Hebrew University = ram1.huji.ac.il Jewish Theological Seminary = jtsa.edu Technion = lib.technion.ac.il Tel Aviv University = tauvax.tau.ac.il Weizmann Institute of Science = wislib.weizmann.ac.il
For access you will receive a prompt request for "USERNAME:" the reply is "ALEPH." For terminal selection, use "17" except in the case of Haifa University where "11" remains the terminal selection for Kermit users. If you experience problems changing to the Hebrew mode at JTS, type in "?/HEB" to switch to Hebrew mode and then "?/ENG" to switch back to the English mode.
