As of March 6, 2007, the Journal is accepting submissions for the 2007-08 year. Please follow the guidelines below for submitting articles, essays, book reviews, and any other scholarly legal work.
Regular Review
The Journal is published twice
a year (January & June). All
submitted manuscripts must be unpublished, and, as of Fall, 2005,
the Journal requires all submissions to be electronic.* To submit
a manuscript to the Journal for consideration, please send the following
c/o Submissions Editor, at jrnenv@law.columbia.edu:
•A cover letter or email briefly
describing the article, along with the author's background and contact
information.
•A resume including a list of prior published works.
•A file containing a double-spaced copy of the manuscript. The file
must be in Microsoft Word .doc format. Citations must conform to The Bluebook: A
Uniform System of Citation (18th ed. 2000)
and should be contained in footnotes rather than endnotes.
*Electronic submission expedites
the review process for both ourselves and our submitting authors,
allowing us to run a more organized and more efficient journal. While
paper submissions made to our postal address will not be ignored,
electronic submissions have the advantage of being more easily duplicable,
more easily transmittable, and therefore more easily reviewable. These
benefits pass on to authors, as we are able to respond more quickly
to the submissions.
Expedited Review
If you have received an offer
of publication from another journal and would like to request an expedited
review please contact the Submissions Editor at the email address above. When requesting
expedited review, please provide (1) the title of your article, (2)
the journal from which you have an offer of publication, and (3) the
date by which you must receive a decision from the Journal.
