New York Classical Club Summer Scholarships - Graduate students can apply to the Rome/Athens Summer Scholarships, provided they are NYCC members.

Study Abroad for Graduate Students

Graduate students who want to do research abroad should be aware of the following fellowships administered directly by Columbia:

  • Twelve Mellon Humanities International Travel Awards, which are available to applicants from Humanities departments; 
  • One Lurcy Fellowship, which is available to applicants who need to travel to France for their research; 
  • One Wollemborg Fellowship, which is available to students whose research requires travel to Italy (preference given to Political Science students);
  • Six general International Travel Fellowships, which can be awarded to applicants from any department;
  • One Thompson Fellowship, which is available to applicants from Art History, Classics, and Classical Studies who wish to attend the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, or to study in Rome at art and archaeology libraries such as the American Academy in Rome, the German  Archaeological Institute, and the Vatican Library.
