IBM 1401

A gallery of images from the IBM 1401 Data Processing System Reference Manual A24-1403-x. The IBM 1401 computer system was one of the Columbia Computer Center's first computers, along with an IBM 7090; these were installed in 1963. Our 1401 had two 729V tape drives, one printer (presumably a 1403), and 4000 characters of memory. This gallery shows some of the other peripherals that were available.
