food for people, not for profit
Welcome to CoreFoods, Columbia's non-profit, student-run organic foods cooperative,
housed in JJ's place in the basement of John Jay. The mission of CoreFoods is to provide
students and members of the Columbia community with affordable, nutritious foods produced
in a sustainable way. We stock our shelves with an assortment of organic, local, vegan,
and vegetarian foods and keep our prices low by operating as a volunteer-run, non-profit
organization (a co-op). We host monthly education and outreach events, and house a
radical lending library and magazine collection. CoreFoods also has a catalogue of items
available for events and parties. If you're hosting a building / floor event, meeting or party
for a club, or anything else, visit our Products page for more
details!
Members volunteer 1-2 hours per month by helping out with a variety of tasks, including pricing,
taking inventory, fliering, staffing events, etc.-- and receive a 10% discount on our products
in return. Members are welcome to join at any point during the semester. If you are interested
in becoming a member, please contact us by using this form. We'd love
to hear from you!
Cheers,
the CoreBoard
