A dismal performance by CUCC. Openers got off to a good start then their #4 bat (just fresh of a century and 95 not out) gave us a bit of stick. Didn't help to drop him twice (another half chance even before he scored any runs), he went onto to top score for them. In the middle over we pulled them back through some good bowling by Vishnu and Prabhu (who initially got clobbered then changed ends) saw us restrict Shere Punjab to 216 when they clearly looked set for over 250 + score. Catches dropped again and didn't help since we dropped both their top scorer and their next best scorer. 2 Excellent stumpings by gokul - one standing up to Dileep's bowling.

CUCC Started well with Gokul and Prabhu - they put on a good opening partnership. Prabhu fell for 16 and Gokul for 36. KD got out to a ball that came off the splice of his bat and we were in trouble. Didn't help that we lost Vishnu, Venu and Sunil for 1 run between the 3. Sayan and Suraj played well, Sayan taking more than his time to settle before he opened up. Then lost wickets and it came down to the last 2 batsmen. Monty and Dileep extremely well and showed the top order what needed to be done on this wicket against a increasingly pedestrian bowling if they hung around. Dileep remained unbeaten on 24 and Monty was the last man out for a well made 16. Together the last pair put on a 50 partnership between them and got us very close to actually winning the game. Else what is now lost by 23 runs would have been a more pathetic lost by 73 runs.

Excellent bowling by Vishnu, great batting by Monty, Dileep and Gokul. The rest need to get their act together if we r to continue winning. Pathetic fielding with a few catches spilt, runs stolen, misfields and poor batting saw CUCC loosing its first league game. Bowling too wasn't great as we gave up about 35+ extras. We need to do better guys.
