Last Saturday saw CUCC beat the Gypsies comfortably by 113 runs. To make a long report short, here are the highlights of the day.

1. All of us showed up by 1:00 PM, with the exception of Suraj, straddling in with his black batman T-shirt on at 2:00PM.
2. Game officially started at 2:15PM as the mat was only arrived around 1:50 PM.
3. 30 Overs game - toss was won by CUCC - decision was made to bat (obviously)
4. Ratesh & Gokul opened the batting - Ratesh being the first to be dismissed not before putting a 95 runs partnership with Gokul and making 29 runs.
5. Michael joins Gokul but only to find himself dismissed to a great catch held at point inches from the ground. Michael, not pleased with himself, could be heard every 10 seconds
"I can't believe I got out". over and over and over and over !!! It was at the middle of the 15th over when we took a water break. Score at 15th was 146 for 2 wickets
6. Pavan joined Gokul but didn't last long, but Gokul kept taking a liking to their bowling.
7. Vishnu joined Gokul but didn't last long either, but Gokul kept slogging their bowling all over the place.
8. Aditya joined Gokul and what we thought would be a never-ending batting performance, the invincible Gokul was caught out. He made his highest score ever of 113 runs.
9. Sriram entered the scene determined to teach the Gypsies about what respect for time is all about, got dismissed to a low rising ball rocking the stumps.
10. Raj joined Aditya but due to bad communication saw Aditya run out for 14 runs.
11. Ashok joined Raj and off the first ball, Ashok was ready to put practice to play.
12. Raj trying to be aggressive saw himself get caught.
13. In came Suraj but not lasting too long was caught out.
14. Last but not least, Ajay joined Ashok who was looking comfortable at the crease and putting every ball faced between the gaps for singles and twos. Unfortunately, by a great throw to the keeper's glove saw Ashok get run out for 25 runs., leaving Ajay disappointed who was looking to get a bat into action.

CUCC was out for 246 runs in 28 overs

1. Opening bowling attack was not at CUCC's best with Ajay starting on one end and Ashok from the other.
2. Both ends had valleys dipping at the crease creating a bit of difficulty for both bowlers.
3. Ajay started well on one end  and with some great fielding saw our first wicket by running out their # 2 batsman who didn't face one ball.
4  Ashok had a difficult time with the footing and his bowling was a gift to the batsmen to knock around.
4. After 6 overs, our 1st change saw Raj and Sriram take over.
5. Raj too having problems in his bowling saw himself replaced by Vishnu. On the other end, Sriram instantly took the 2nd wicket of the day.
6. Vishnu looking good also took his first wicket by dismissing their # 1 batsman who was cross batting almost every shot like a pinch hitter.
7. Both Vishnu and Sriram kept troubling the Gypsies with their slow pace. Their spells saw Vishnu taking 3 wickets and Sriram taking 2 wickets.
8. Raj and Ajay were brought back in to finish off the remaining order whereby Ajay finished with 2 wickets.

Gypsies all out for 136 runs

An excellent win but we all need to improve ourselves in every department. For whatever it is worth, incase some of you have forgotten, this is a team effort and not an individual effort. Everyone is there to have a good day of cricket. Everyone is expected to arrive promptly before the start of the game. Everyone is expected to work together as a team and conduct themselves as gentlemen on and off the field.
