Sean Kelly is a visual journalist and illustrator whose work appears in The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, Businessweek and The Atlantic among other publications. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, where his visual commentaries appear on the Op-Ed page. His work has been exhibited by The Society of Illustrators, Parsons School of Design and The Museum of Cartoon & Comic Art and has been featured on the CBS News program Face The Nation. Kelly has won awards from The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration and Communication Arts, and the National Cartoonists Society named him Best Newspaper Illustrator in 2007. Kelly is a graduate of Brown University and studied at Rhode Island School of Design.
Lauren Mack is the travel editor for thedailymeal.com, who has written on a variety of topics both in the US and in Asia. Her stories about travel, sports, food, shopping, architecture and popular culture have appeared in US magazines, including Newsweek International, HFN, and Elle Girl and newspapers such as Chicago Tribune, Newsday, The Palm Beach Post, and Sun-Sentinel. In Beijing, her work has appeared in Time Out, City Weekend Beijing, tbj Home, and Urbane. In Hong Kong, her work has appeared in Time Out. In Taipei, her work regularly appears in EVA Air’s inflight magazine, Verve. In addition to magazine and newspapers, she has worked on guidebooks for Zagat, Explorer Publishing and Time Out.
Jeff McCann has worked at some of the largest advertising agencies in New York, NY including Ogilvy & Mather, Dentsu America. H is currently an Account Supervisor at Cline Davis & Mann. He has worked on accounts for Toyota, Merck, Boehringer Ingelheim and Novartis International AG. McCann is currently on a team developing two global pharmaceutical launches for Novartis.
Chris Rackliffe is the Senior Social Media Editor for Men's Health and Women's Health magazines and is responsible for how both brands are personified across social, digital and emerging platforms. Rackliffe manages over 4 million social media connections across 7 platforms. Before joining Men's Health, he managed social media executions for several big brands at BBDO New York. Chris worked for Mermaid Inn Holding Company as a social media intern and was a entertainment editorial intern for Details magazine before joining Men's Health and Women's Health magazines part of Rodale, Inc. When not Tweeting or Facebooking for brands he enjoys exploring NYC and sharing experiences with others—both IRL and online.
Joni Sato has been a senior designer for CMYK+WHITE studio design firm for the past four years. Before that she worked as a graphic designer for Town Sports International, Luctor International/Van Gogh Vodkas and a freelancer for the Parenting Group in NYC. She holds a BFA from the University of Louisville in Communicative Art and Design.
C. Randy Stano is professor of practice in visual journalism and journalism in the School of Communications and editorial adviser for the Ibis yearbook at the University of Miami. He is the former director of editorial art and design for The Miami Herald and the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester, NY. Stano was assistant art director at the Kansas City Times and part of its Pulitzer Prize-winning team in 1982 and the Herald’s in 1993. A former president of the SND, he also chaired the southeast region, contest and quick course committees. While teaching at A.N. McCallum High School in Austin, TX during the 1970’s, he was the school’s publications adviser and the DJNF National High School Journalism Teacher of the Year in 1974. Stano has received numerous awards for art/design directing from SND, National Headliners Club, Florida Society of Newspaper Editors, Print and others. He works as a consultant and judge for numerous art/design competitions. Stano received the CSPA Gold Key in 1980.
Cedric Victor is an art director, graphic designer and illustrator working in the fine arts, graphic design and media studies. His output has spanned a number of fields, including projects and campaigns for non-profits, pharmaceutical + medical advertising, financial institutions, the arts sector and the music + entertainment sectors. Some of his clients include Atavistic Records, Amnesty International, Atlanta Magazine, CBS Atlanta, Hyperion Books, KnopfDoubleday Group, Material ConneXion, Mercedes Benz, Microsoft Corporation, Penguin Books, Random House Books, Sony Corporation, Verizon and Viking Press.
Randy Yeip is a graphics editor at The Wall Street Journal. He coordinates the paper's political graphics coverage and has directed the Journal's election graphics since 2006. Prior to that, he was a designer and graphic artist (and occasional columnist) at The Patriot-News in Harrisburg, PA. Yeip holds bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Michigan State University and has contributed to various publications. He has judged and critiqued for CSPA, NSPA, MIPA and PSPA. Yeip has received a Gold Circle award from CSPA.
CSPA is an international student press association, founded in 1925, whose goal is to unite student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques and award programs.
