Membership Submission Instructions

What do I need to send to CSPA for my membership to be complete?

Entry form
All publications must fill out and submit the four page entry form. [Click here to download the form as a pdf.]

Publications
If you will join as a Regular member, submit two sets of the following otherwise one set will complete the Associate membership.

Newspapers & Newsmagazines
Send 2 sets of six issues from academic year 2007-2008. If fewer than six issues were published, send 2 copies each of all that you published. Issues will not be returned after judging.

College Newspapers
Fall and spring semesters are treated as two separate memberships. Membership fees will also be assessed per semester. Submit 2 sets of 10 papers one for evaluation and one for Crown entries packaged per semester.

Magazines
Send 2 copies each of all issues from academic year 2007-2008. If more than 1 issue was published, send 1 copy each of all that you published. Issues will not be returned after judging.

Yearbooks
Send 2 copies of your 2008 yearbook. Spring delivery books need not include summer supplements. Yearbook may be returned if you pay the additional $13.50 return fee (per book) as shown on the membership form.

Payment
CSPA accepts checks made payable in US funds drawn on a US Bank. Make checks to Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

Tips for submissions

Please keep a copy of everything you submit to CSPA.

Regular Members: Don’t forget, submit two copies of your publication (one for your evaluation the second for Crown nomination).

Associate Members: Please don’t forget to fill out the entire membership form. Also send 1 set of newspapers, 1 copy of your magazine or 1 copy of your yearbook.
