CSPA Announces 2009 Online Newspaper Crown Finalists
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) announced the finalists of their 2009 online newspaper competition on February 26, 2009 at Columbia University in the City of New York.
Edmund J. Sullivan, executive director of the Association, released the names of the seven high school and six college finalists, citing that each of these publications will receive either a Gold or Silver Crown in March, 2009. There will be no further judging.
This is the first time in which the CSPA has presented Crown Awards to online media.
Collegiate Crown Award finalists will be presented with either a Gold or Silver Crown Award during the College Media Convention at the CSPA Award ceremony on March 15, 2009 at the Marriott Marquis in New York, NY.
The Awards Convocation for Scholastic Crown recipients will take place during CSPA's 85th annual Convention, on Friday, March 20, 2009 in the Roone Arledge Auditorium of the Alfred Lerner Student Center on Columbia's Morningside Heights campus.
The decisions of the Crown Judges are final. Only when results are released by the CSPA should they be considered authoritative.
Finalists are winners, not nominees. Each finalist will be revealed as either a Gold or Silver Crown at the awards ceremonies.
