CSSR Symposium "Common Ground" in the news:

The CSSR extends warm congratulations to our talented graduates. Join us in celebrating their achievements:

Ossian Foley graduated from the Columbia University's School of General Studies and is off to the writing program at the University of Iowa to pursue a MFA in writing. He coordinated all the Center's events and programs for the last few years and has been an invaluable member of the central CSSR administration team.

 

Emily Jordan graduated Columbia College with a double major in psychology and anthropology and has received a Gates Cambridge Fellowship to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience next year. Her work with the CSSR included research on the ethics of assissted reproductive technologies and ova harvesting, as well as assistance with literature search for CSSR publications.

 

Jay Chudow graduated from Columbia's School of Engineering and Applied Science with a degree in Civil Enginnering and is pursuing medical school in the following year. Jay's work with the CSSR includes but is not limited to his reserch at Terrence Cardinal Cooke, a program he helped coordinate in the following year. In addition he assists with event coordination of the CSSR seminars.

Additional congratulations to:

Pilar Jennings, who received her PhD in Psychiatry and Religion from Union Theological Seminary. Pilar assists the CSSR in the coordination of the University Seminar in Slavery and Memory.

Health Living Harlem: Green Mapping for Eco-Justice

 

 

Faith leaders and community activists of Harlem have joined forces to fight for environmental justice through a green mapping project. Green mapping identifies both green places, such as parks, and environmental hazards, such as places with high emissions.
