This course offers the opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of Scuba diving; from basic safety to techniques necessary to become fully certified. Upon successful completion of the course the students will have the opportunity to participate in four open water dives (additional fee) and receive internationally recognized diving certification. The course is given by certified instructors who have many years of diving and teaching experience. The student will be required to swim 200 yards and float for 10 minutes to qualify for the course. The initial meeting for the course will be held on Tuesday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 25 in the Lou Gehrig Lounge. The fee for the course is $175, which includes all equipment with the exception of mask, snorkel, weight belt, and fins.
