Monday-Friday: Beginning on Monday, we will be waking up early (around 6:45 a.m.) for breakfast and leaving for our sites between 8:00 and 10:00 in the morning (depending on where you’re working). At breakfast, you will pick up a packed lunch to eat at your site. You will return to campus by 5:00 for dinner. Depending on the day, we may have a discussion about the articles that have been assigned, a facilitated session about issues that intersect with community service, a presentation by the first-year advising deans of your college, or our service panel in which you will have the opportunity to hear from people who have made public service a part of their careers. At night, we will have four different events for you to choose from after a hard day’s work. A note for your parents: At least one leader will be with you at all times from breakfast until you return from the night’s activities.
Saturday-Sunday: You will not be volunteering on the weekend. On Saturday, the group is broken down into teams for a huge scavenger hunt (each led by a CUE leader, of course). We won’t say much about it, but trust us: you’ll have fun.
On Sunday, we will be hosting a very special brunch for you, CUE alumni and your parents.
