Mission Statement

As the world experiences one of the most dramatic extinction events of all time, the importance of Environmental Biology is undeniable, and understanding the effects of biodiversity loss on our lives is crucial. While there are many groups on campus that approach environmental issues, no groups currently look at the biosphere from an academic point of view. Our goal is to encourage environmental appreciation and education at all levels within the Columbia community.

Our purposes are to:
-Network with other students, alumni, graduate students, and faculty interested in Environmental Biology,

-Enrich the existing E3B and Environmental Science programs with events and trips that allow students to explore Environmental Biology outside of the classroom,

-Foster interest, education, and awareness in the Columbia community for Environmental Biology and, generally, the environment and its importance in our daily lives and our world.
