CUPAL Special Project
CUPAL Member Group
CUPAL sponsors one “Special Project” per semester. These projects can include theatrical, musical, or dance performances, multi-media events, festivals, and fundraisers. While the criteria for a Special Project are deliberately loose in order to allow for individual creativity, CUPAL maintains the following preferences in keeping with its mission and objectives: productions appropriate to the Lerner Black Box Theatre, workshop style processes, projects that do not fall under the auspices of established performing arts organizations.
Fall 2014 Project
Balance is the CUPAL Special Project for Fall Semester 2015. Balance is an immersive concert, exploring how we see, hear, feel, and receive music performance in a non-traditional setting. Unconventional spatial perspectives combined with specialized lighting give rise to new audio-visual experiences, for both audience members and performers. Balance features commissioned works by student composers and includes a diverse array of "instruments," including ukulele, bass recorder, and bluetooth speakers.
