xThe CUPAL Showcase for the Performing Arts has become a tradition in celebrating each new performing arts seasons at Columbia. Under the direction of the CUPAL board, plans begin each November to develop an inclusive and representative showcase of student work. Member groups present short selections from their past season or upcoming productions to create a full program of performing arts acts.
Presented each spring, Showcase includes a reception and a full act of programming, including dance, musical numbers, and scene selections from each member group. The night ends with a toast to the senior class lead by the seniors on the Executive Board and dancing.
In coming together to produce the showcase, we hope to foster a sense of community among performing artists as well as to increase support and appreciation for diverse arts among our member groups and in the wider university community.
