Strings Attached? Conditionalities on Development Lending

When organizations like the World Bank and IMF lend money to developing countries, these loans include conditions, such as anti-corruption measures, budget deficit reduction programs and the privatization of public services.  Learn more about conditionalities and explore their role in lending and development from the perspective of the borrowing country, the lending organization and the legal and economic policy-making standpoint.

Professor Sara Calvo, Lecturer in the Discipline of   International & Public Affairs at SIPA, with prior World Bank experience

Professor Jose O’Campo, Professor of Professional Practice in International and Public Affairs and Director of the Program in Economic and Political Development at SIPA, with several prior roles in the Government of Colombia

Professor Katharina Pistor, Michael I. Sovern Professor of Law, with academic and research experience in international law and development

Due to collapsed infrastructure, information to guide reproductive health interventions is sparse though improving. Join us in a discussion with experts in the field of reproductive health and human rights as we learn about the challenges for reproductive health service provision abroad.
