Columbia University Renewable Energy Society (CURES) is an organization of Columbia students who are interested in working in sustainable energy, whole-systems thinking and green technology. We are clean energy enthusiasts at Columbia who will be the future engineers, developers, contractors, leaders, policy makers, teachers, researchers, Wall street analysts, manufacturers and homeowners. CURES educates its members about renewable energy and energy efficiency industry, promotes awareness of clean energy-related career opportunities, and provides networking opportunities between students and industry/academy leaders.

Project Finance Analyst
Project Finance at BTMU:

We are active in both greenfield and acquisition Project Finance transactions, and our global Project Finance teams are strategically located for effective global coverage (over 110 professionals across 6 offices globally). The New York team?s primary focus is on the Americas Project Finance market. Our industries of focus and expertise include power and renewable energy, oil and gas, metals and mining, and infrastructure. Out team has closed over 60 Project Finance transactions since January 2009.

Position Description:
We are an industry-leading team, named #1 for Project Finance in the Americas for 3 years running. The team began ramping up in 2008, and currently consists of 27 professionals. In order to support our continued growth, we are seeking an Analyst to come aboard and take on a key supporting role in the origination and execution of market-leading Project Finance transactions. As an Analyst on the team, you'll have a great opportunity to learn the Project Finance business from the ground up from market leaders and actively participate on a variety of transactions throughout the Americas. The relative split between live deal work and marketing will be at least 70/30 in favor of live deal work.
Key Responsibilities Will Comprise:
§             Assist the team in executing Project Finance transactions from start to closing
§             Assist in creation of marketing materials
§             Conduct credit analyses and due diligence on new business opportunities
§             Conduct industry and economic research to support the team?s marketing and execution efforts
§             Perform cash flow modeling, sensitivity analyses and model auditing
§             Perform related duties and participate in special projects as required
Qualifications:
§             BA or equivalent degree required, with sound knowledge of finance
             and fundamental accounting (demonstrated coursework in finance and
             accounting a plus)
§             1 year of work experience (meaningful internships may be counted
             toward this requirement)
§             Experience or internships in Corporate Banking, Investment
             Banking, Financial Advisory, Energy, or Infrastructure a plus, but
             not a requirement
§             Strong analytical skills
§             Strong writing skills (writing samples may be requested)
§             Solid communication skills
§             Must be a team player with ability to handle multiple projects
             simultaneously
§             Strong financial modeling skills; cash flow modeling experience is
             a plus
§             Having completed on-the-job credit analysis training is a plus
§             Spanish / Portuguese knowledge a plus, but not a requirement
