François Bonnet

Scholar in residence


François Bonnet has a joint PhD from Sciences Politiques Paris and University of Milan in Sociology. He teaches Urban sociology at Sciences Po. In 2005-2006, he was a visiting scholar at CURP and has been working since then on East New York in Brooklyn. Bonnet is interested in the organizations which participate in the production of social order in disadvantaged neighborhoods: law and order agencies, housing authorities, nonprofit organizations, grassroots social movements, religious institutions, etc. Bonnet has published two peer-reviewed articles about conservative criminology and employee theft and is working on a book on social control.
