The Road to the MBA, with the Columbia Business School We spent time with a small group of female MBA students from Columbia Business School who answered our questions on applying and pursuing a business school degree.

Study Breaks Every semester, around midterms and finals, CWBS holds a special themed-study break (often featuring a professional massage service), inviting both past and present members to unwind.

The Changing Role of Women in the Corporate World, with UBS Our featured speaker for the event was Jane De Florio, Executive Director of Investment Banking at UBS. She addressed ways in which female roles within investment banking have evolved over the past decade, and how we could respond to future workplace changes in the financial world.

Career and Family in the Corporation, with 85 Broads A panel discussion with members of 85 Broads (a global network of professional women in business) on how women in the modern corporate world handle the age-old challenge of balancing career and family.

Law and Business Career Panel We invited corporate lawyers from the city’s top firms to advise students on how they could pursue professions at the intersection of law and business.

Underclassman Welcome: Business 101 We went over the basic information of six popular sectors—such as finance, consulting, non-profit, entrepreneurship—in order to help newcomers find their niche in the business world.

Making it in Manhattan Internship Panel As one of our most popular events, this info session in the winter (just before summer analyst recruiting season starts) went over different internship opportunities in six popular areas of business

Women on Wall Street, with Morgan Stanley Thanks to our co-sponsorship with the Society of Women Engineers, we invited Morgan Stanley women from various divisions to give valuable advice on achieving success in finance.

Job Shadowing, with Goldman Sachs We enjoyed a morning touring the Goldman Sachs world headquarters where we shadowed female professionals, learned about different departments, and toured the trading floor.

Off-Campus Women’s Dinner, with JP Morgan The JP Morgan analyst recruiting team invited a select group of CWBS members out to dinner in the city with some of their top female bankers.

Interview and Resume Workshop, with Credit Suisse Recruiters presented some insider interview tips, staged a mock version of a successful interview and gave out samples of the perfect resume/cover letter.
