Delta Gammas are committed to providing service to those who need it.  Each year, as a fraternity, we donate over a million dollars to causes such as Service for Sight, Aid to the Blind, and other charitable, scientific, and educational organizations.  Because over half of all instances of blindness can be prevented, DG is especially dedicated to increasing sight awareness.  As a chapter, we donate funds, glasses, and books to programs that aid the blind.  We also work hard each year to raise money for our national philanthropy, Service for Sight, in new and innovative ways.  We unite the entire Greek community each year for Anchor Games, which raises money and awareness for our foundation.  We also sponsor the Anchor Bake sale on Lowe steps each spring to raise money for Service for Sight.  Zeta Theta chapter is proud of our efforts to continuously push our membership to exceed fundraising and service commitment goals.

LOCALLY
While we are proud of all the work we have done and all that we will continue to accomplish, we are particularly pleased with our contribution to the local community.  Our Philanthropy Chair, Alexandra Coromilas, provides each sister with continuous opportunities to give back to Morningside Heights. DGs enjoy volunteering their time at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic and helping out at events for Lighthouse International.  This semester we look forward to donating to the The Harriet and Robert Heilbrunn Guild School for children and working with a blind veterans support group downtown.

NATIONALLY
Since 1952, Delta Gamma has given over $1,315,808 to 42 organizations in the US and Canada, including: Art of the Eye, Box Tops for Education, the American Foundation for the Blind, the Braille Institute of America, Inc., The Foundation for Fighting Blindness, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, and the US Association for Blind Athletes.

AT COLUMBIA
On campus, sisters are always active in university service activities: sisters dance for 28 hours straight in CU Dance Marathon, and Delta Gamma puts together a dedicated team for Relay for Life.  Delta Gamma's Motto, "DO GOOD," captures each sister's commitment to bettering her community and is reflected in each sister's continued service even after graduation.  The New York Alumnae chapter is one of the top ten alumnae fundraising groups for DG's philanthropy in the nation!
