Rape Crisis / Anti-Violence Support Center is located at 112 Hewitt Hall (Barnard College Quad), and provides peer counseling, advocacy, and education to survivors and co-survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, childhood sexual abuse, and other forms of violence. Counseling and Psychological Services supports the psychological and emotional well-being of the campus community by providing counseling, consultations, and crisis interventions — all of which adhere to strict standards of confidentiality. Furman Counseling Center (Barnard)
The Furman Counseling Center staff are committed to providing services in ways that recognize, respect, and value the diversity of Barnard students. The Ombuds Office offers a safe place for any member of the Columbia community to discuss workplace issues, interpersonal conflict, academic concerns, bureaucratic runarounds, and many other problems. You can speak freely to us because we promise to keep our discussions confidential, and we are not part of any formal University process. We don’t take sides in disputes and operate independently of the Columbia administration, reporting only to the president. Our offices are in two locations:
Morningside Heights Mental Health Service at CUMC
The Mental Health Service at CUMC, a division of Student Health Service, offers confidential consultations, counseling, psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy for individuals and couples. We are available for support throughout your time at the Columbia University Medical Center. We are staffed by psychologists and psychiatrists who are experienced in the issues that students face in the course of their professional training. Teacher's College Center for Psychological and Educational ServicesThe Center for Educational and Psychological Services (CEPS) is a community service, training, and research facility operated by Teachers College, Columbia University. CEPS offers a wide range of educational and psychological services to the greater New York community at affordable rates. These services are provided by advanced graduate students who are enrolled in professional, masters or doctoral degree programs at the college. Members of the Teachers College faculty closely supervise the provision of these services.
