会议主题:国际汉语教材编写及新教学资源开发
会议议题包括,但不限于:
1. 开发国别化教材的必要性和可行性;
2. 国别化教材开发所需的对比分析研究;
3. 如何开发专业用途汉语的教材及教学资源,如商务汉语、法律汉语、媒体汉语、医用汉语等;
4. 如何开发体现基于内容的教学原则的高年级汉语教材;
5. 汉语教学中新资源的开发与应用;
6. 与教材开发相关的理论和实践。

Chinese Textbook and New Teaching Resources

To break one of the bottlenecks of teaching Chinese as a foreign
language---the scarcity of quality and suitable Chinese textbooks and
new teaching resources, and to develop teaching materials targeted for
increasingly diverse Chinese language learners, Columbia University in
the city of New York and Renmin University of China will co-organize
the “2011 International Conference on Chinese Textbook and New
Teaching Resources” in New York City on May 20-21. The conference will
cover a broad spectrum of topics related to development of textbooks
and new teaching resources.
Theme: Chinese Textbooks and New Teaching Resources
Topics include, but not limited to, the followings:
1. the necessity and possibility of developing country-specific
Chinese textbooks;
2. what kind of contrastive analysis is needed for compiling
country-specific textbooks;
3. how to develop Chinese textbooks for professional purposes, such as
business Chinese, legal Chinese, media Chinese and medical Chinese;
4. How to embody content-based teaching principle in developing
textbooks for upper-level class;
5. how to develop and integrate new teaching resources into Chinese
instruction;
6. general theories and practice of textbook development and new
teaching resources.

Proposal requirements:
1) Proposals should include a title (no more than 20 words) and an
abstract (maximum 300 words).
2) Submission of proposal could be made in either English or Chinese.
3) Proposal should include author‘s name (Chinese/English),
institution, and email address.
4) Proposals should be submitted to chinesetextbook.nyc@gmail.com
