落語（らくご） あらすじ (Synopses)

1. Ken Kiyota ケン・キヨタ 転失気 "Tenshiki"
"Tenshiki" is a rakugo story about 知(し)ったかぶり ("pretending you know something when you don’t"). During a medical exam, a doctor asks a priest whether he has "tenshiki." The priest does not know what "tenshiki" is, but pretends that he knows and says he does not have any. After the doctor leaves, the priest sends Chin-nen, a young priest at the temple, to retrieve a "tenshiki" for him. When Chin-nen learns what "tenshiki" is, he realizes that the priest was just pretending to know what "tenshiki" meant. Chin-nen decides to trick the priest by telling him the wrong meaning of "tenshiki" so that the priest will embarrass himself when the doctor visits the next day.
(The classic story has been written for a modern audience by the rakugo performer, Ken Kiyota.)

2. Danny Kelly ダニー・ケリー 時そば "Toki Soba"
"Toki Soba" is a classic story of a swindle gone wrong. A man enters a soba shop and asks for a bowl of soba. As he consumes his dinner, he showers the unwitting Soba maker (sobaya-san) with compliments. Then, when it comes time to pay, he counts out
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, hey, Soba man, what time is it? "
"Oh, it’s 9."
"10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. Thanks!"
and disappears without incident. After some careful consideration, the oafish Yotaro figures out the man’s scheme and decides to give it a shot. Yotaro, unfortunately, fails to consult the clock before embarking on his misadventure…

3 ． Maria Elizabeth Nonaka 　 野中(のなか)まりあイライザ 青菜 "Aona"
"Aona" is a story about a gardener (uekiya) and the various happenings between him and his employer, a retired man (go-inkyo) and him and his wife, Kakaa. Unlike his employer and his employer's wife, the gardener and his Kakaa are not very clever. So when they attempt to copy the clever "secret" conversation between the master and the master's wife, hilarious results ensue.
