1. Can I take a Japanese language course for PASS/FAIL?
No, languages courses in East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALAC) can only be taken for a letter grade.
2. Can I AUDIT a Japanese language course?
No, auditing in not allowed in languages courses in East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALAC).
3. I'm not a student at Columbia University. Can I take a Japanese language course?
Yes. You have to register through Continuing Education If you have studied Japanese before and want to place into a higher course than the first semester Japanese, you must take the placement test.
4. I want to practice my Japanese. Is there anything open to the public?
Yes. Everyone is welcome at Chat Club, bi-weekly Japanese language table.
