The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures is home to all humanities teaching and research focused on the cultures of China, Korea and Japan. It also houses all East Asian language programs and is the administrative center for the undergraduate major in East Asian Studies. Both the language programs and the major are designed to fulfill a range of student interests and career ambitions, extending beyond the humanities to include the social sciences and the professional schools.
