Columbia and Barnard are home to a rich assortment of Catholic groups for grads and undergrads. Columbia Catholic Ministry unites these groups and organizes common events, notably our 5:00 pm Sunday Mass on campus at St. Paul's Chapel. Ford Hall

Established in 1974 by the Catholic Chaplaincy at Columbia, Ford Hall at 614 West 114th Street (map) serves as a residence for Catholic graduate students at Columbia University. The purpose of Ford Hall is to build community and to further spiritual growth through shared responsibility, study, service, and prayer. Residents prepare communal meals, undertake household tasks, work to engage the larger Columbia community, and worship together.

CCM Choir
catholics@columbia.eduAnyone who enjoys singing is invited to join the CCM Choir! Led by Director Chris Mueller (bio), this spirited ensemble sings at the CCM Mass, 5:00 pm on Sundays in St. Paul's Chapel. Rehearsals are at 4:00 pm, just before Mass. No previous musical experience is necessary. Guitarists and other instrumentalists are also welcome. If interested, drop by a rehearsal and stay awhile!
Choir & Schola
catholics@columbia.eduFor more traditional fare, there is the Notre Dame Choir & Schola, who sing for the Sunday 11:30 am liturgies at Notre Dame (114th and Morningside). The Schola (drawn from the Choir) sing unaccompanied polyphonic motets and Gregorian chant--yes, in Latin. Hymns, psalms, and service music are sung by the full Choir. Admittance is by audition. The Choir convenes at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings. We also perform the occasional concert of sacred music.
