Bible Study7:30pm, 110 Earl Hall. Each Bible study session will begin with a focused reading and meditation on a passage of Scripture from a thematic approach (e.g. the Sunday readings, the Pauline year, etc.). We will then take up the very question of Sacred Scripture itself: where did it come from? How can it be said to be inspired? Why were these particular books included? Is everything in the Bible true? Particular emphasis will be placed on the continuity and essential link between Old and New Testaments.Comitivae8:30pm, 406 Hamilton. Comitivae is a group we've started this year to discuss these questions of reason and faith, and how it is possible to perceive that God and religion has to do with all of reality, including our textbooks. We get together because we refuse to believe that "the human mind is incapable of believing and thinking at the same time."Therefore, we invite people who are passionate about what they study because they see a connection between the Infinite and their interests, or just want to genuinely find out where Christ could possibly be in that ridiculous required class they have to take. There should be yummy goodies to entice your attendance...Contact: Carolina Brito, acb2138@columbia.edu Columbia Catholics for Life9:15pm, 406 Hamilton.
