Music at St. Paul's: Aeolian Skinner Organ
Located within the apse of the Chapel is the Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ. Completed in 1938, it is one of the finest examples of American organ building in the 20th century. The console was rebuilt in 1997 by Robert Turner with America black walnut, to match the original woodwork in the choir area. The keys are 20,000 year old mastodon tusk ivory.
Classical organ music emanates from its 5,347 pipes at regular concerts and special events scheduled throughout the school year. This year we inaugurate our Ivy League Organist Series with concerts by our very own University Organist, Tim Smith, and visiting Ivy League organists. See our Music at St. Paul's schedule for upcoming performances!
