Columbia research in economics encompasses all branches of the discipline, including applied microeconomics, economic theory, macroeconomics, and econometrics, as well as a wide range of subfields including labor economics, industrial organization, development economics, public finance, and international trade.
Economists at Columbia seek to answer pressing questions in public policy, and to understand the way in which economic decisions are made and how institutions function empirically.
