What We Do

Community Services

Ethical Culture, an American religion, has played a major role in helping to shape the social landscape of the United States. We helped to found the ACLU, the first Legal Aid Society, and Visiting Nurses Program.

Our Chaplaincy offers the following opportunities to perform Community Service:

  • Homeless Shelter for Women: This shelter is for 10 women and is located at 2 West 64 St. in Manhattan. Volunteers are needed for overnight attendance. This shelter program has received several awards.

  • Supervised Visitation Project: This program enables children whose parents are separated to visit with the non-custodial parent in a safe, supportive environment. Volunteers are trained to provide supervision for these visits.
