An NEH Summer Seminar at Columbia University in the City of New York
June 18 — July 21, 2007

HOUSING

Although housing in Manhattan is notoriously expensive, summer is an ideal time to find good deals in the Morningside Heights neighborhood where the University is located. The Columbia housing office can offer single, apartment-style accommodations that are suitable for participants coming on their own, but less so for those with partners and/or children. For those who wish to seek their own accommodations, Craigslist New York (http://newyork.craigslist.org/) and the Columbia Housing office (http://www.ais.columbia.edu:40046/bapp/housing) are useful resources for finding summer sublet opportunities. We encourage seminar participants to live in Morningside Heights so that they can take full advantage of the research opportunities available at Columbia, and socialize with other participants outside of the seminar room.
