SAMPLE MAJORS
The following letters are used to designate which requirements are met by the courses listed in the Sample Majors below. A single course usually will fulfill more than one requirement; occasionally, as with writing workshops, a course will not satisfy any distribution requirements, though it still counts as one of the ten courses for the major.

There are four courses in British literature, one in American (Harlem Renaissance), and two in comparative. Also notice that Dada & Surrealism and The Age of Proust are both literature courses taught in French and count as 2 of the 10 courses for the major, but neither may be used to satisfy any distribution requirements.
