Guidelines for Submitting
Faculty Papers to RBML
In furtherance of its mission to collect, preserve, and disseminate
the work of faculty members
and scholars, the Rare Book
and Manuscript Library
welcomes donations of faculty
papers. To assist in keeping
only those items which will
aid future scholars in their
research, the Manuscript
Library requests that you
observe the following
guidelines.
Please donate the following type of material:
- biographical sketch or vita, including bibliography and description of your work
- professional and personal paperscorrespondence, manuscripts, documents, diaries and journals, photographs, annotated books, scrapbooks, research files, and course-related files such as syllabi and reading lists
Please do not donate the following type of material:
- personnel files, including tenure review files, which are restricted by University policy and law
- student records, such as grade sheets, which are restricted by University policy and federal law
- financial records, e.g. check stubs, tax returns, invoices, bills, etc., unless directly pertinent to your professional career and scholarly accomplishments
- greeting cards, unless they contain substantial messages that could be considered as letters
- routine University materials such as administrative mailings
- duplicates
- clipping files, unless they are annotated
- three-dimensional itemsbusts, plaques, trophies, etc.
