Learning at Splash

For one day in October, high school students will be invited to Columbia Universty for ESP's Splash program. These students will have the opportunity to take classes in a wide variety of subjects while being exposed to a college community.

When class registration opens, students will be able to choose their class schedule from topics they love, topics they wish to learn more about, or topics they didn't even know existed!

Classes are taught by eager and engaging scholars of Barnard College and Columbia University, from undergrads to PhDs, in an array of subjects that are accessible to high school students.

Student/Parent Information

Date and Time: Columbia Splash 2012 will happen on October 14th, 2012. That Sunday, Splash classes will run from approximately 10AM-6PM. A detail schedule will be released in the coming weeks as the program date approaches.

Student Registration: Student registration to reserve a spot on the program is now open.
It can be found here. Student class registration will open approximately in mid-September, and we will notify all registered students of sign ups.

Class Locations: Splash is on Columbia University's campus at 116th and Broadway, New York City. All of our academic buildings are located inside the safety of our main campus gates, which are guarded, and student will have no need to cross streets or avenues during the program. We will post a student map shortly.

Special Arrangements: If your child has any physical handicaps, please inform us ahead of time so we can make suitable arrangements (a volunteer to lead her around, or a large-print map for visual impairments). If your child has any other special needs, please inform us. While we will work with your child to the best of our ability, our teachers are college students and are not trained in how to handle children with special needs. If you have any questions, email us at ESP.Columbia@gmail.com

Food: We strongly recommend that each student schedule breaks in their class schedule for meals. There are many lunch shops and resturants around Columbia's campus, and we will post a list of options shortly.

T-Shirts: Students will be able to purchase a Splash t-shirt during Splash.

More information will be posted as the date approaches. If you would like to be kept informed with notifications and updates, sign up to be on our list serv here.

If you have any questions about classes or the program, just let us know at ESP.Columbia@gmail.com
