Where is Columbia Fencing?

Find Fencing” on the Campus Map below. (Directions to Columbia University's campus can be found below the map.) Fencing at Columbia takes place in the Marcellus Hartley Dodge Physical Fitness Center. (The entrance to the Center is pictured on the right.)

The team practices in the Columbia Fencing Room located on the first floor. (Our room is equipped with eight full length strips, all with electrical scoring equipment.) Coach Kolombatovich’s office is on the third floor in room 321. Coaches Kogler’s and Dupree’s office and Sport Psychology Laboratory is on the first floor off the foyer of the Fencing Room.

Our Home Meets take place in either the Levien Gymnasium or the University Gymnasium, both located on the second floor. Clicking on Our Schedule will let you know when you can attend our next meet.

HOW TO GET TO COLUMBIA

The main entrance to the Columbia University Campus on Morningside Heights is located at the intersection of Broadway and West 116th Street on the East side of Broadway in New York City's Borough of Manhattan.

Driving Directions to Columbia University

Street parking can be found in the neighborhood, and there are parking garages located on 114th Street and on 122nd Street, both East of Broadway between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, as well as at Riverside Churchs garage which is located on 120th Street, West of Broadway between Broadway and Claremont Avenue.

By Train or Bus: Trains to New York arrive at Grand Central Station or Pennsylvania Station (One may take the #1 Subway from within Pennsylvania Station.), while buses stop at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, where a visitor can take either public transportation (see below) or a taxi north (uptown) to the campus.

By Air: For visitors coming into LaGuardia, Kennedy, or Newark airports, taxi service is available to the campus, and there is bus service to Grand Central Station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The M60, a New York City Bus, goes from LaGuardia Airport to Columbia stopping at 116th Street and Broadway.

By Public Transportation: Four bus lines (M4, M11, M5, and M104) and a subway train (the Broadway IRT No. 1 Local) serve the Columbia/Morningside Heights area from midtown Manhattan. The Columbia stop is on Broadway at 116th Street for the subway, Broadway and 116th Street for the M4 and M104 buses, Riverside Drive and 116th Street for the M5 bus, and Amsterdam Avenue and 116th Street for the M11 bus. Do not use IRT express trains Nos. 2 and 3 above 96th Street. While those two trains run parallel to the No. 1 train up to 96th Street, they follow a different route after that and do not stop at Columbia University.
