TEACHING THE CULTURE
While the main focus of the Finnish Studies is in the language instruction, the program aims to offer additional extracurricular activities such as film viewings and cultural lectures. The languages used in the events are English and Finnish.

SPRING 2010
During the Spring semester 2010 we had four Finnish cultural evenings (Kulttuuri-iltama). These evenings included lectures in English, performance viewings and games. The topics were:
Finnish contemporary dance
Modern and contemporary Finnish music
Helsinki, the capital city of Finland
and
Finnish design.
FALL 2009
In the fall 2009 the extracurricular events consisted of five Finnish movie nights. The films were shown with English subtitles.
