Georgiana Perlea was educated at the University of Bucharest, the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, and New York University, where she received in 2012 a joint PhD in French Literature and French Studies. Trained in modern literature, linguistics, and history, she is a practitioner of intellectual history with a focus on European political ideas. She is teaching Contemporary Civilization in the Core Curriculum and writing a book on direct democracy and Left libertarianism as critical factors in the transition to post-Marxist thought in postwar France.
