Graduate Student Resources: Useful Downloads

Given the wealth of information available on the Internet and the powerful precision of Google, there is no reason for us to try to duplicate the already successful web pages that list downloads of academic tools, teaching aids, and any other imaginable resource that may be of use to graduate students. We will however provide a few links that may be particularly handy.

File Viewers

These tools allow you to view files created in the programs listed, without having to have that program on your computer. For example, a user who does not have Microsoft Word can download the Word Viewer to read Word files on his or her computer.

Computer Security

With the proliferation of computers and broadband connections, safeguarding your computer has become more essential than ever. In addition to regularly backing up your files, the following tools might be of use.
