FGSA - Fellowship Application Workshop

The FGSA no longer holds its own fellowship application workshop because the Graduate School offfers several such events throughout the academic year. Entering graduate students are particularly encouraged to attend as they will be completing their fellowship renewal forms (including the outside funding portion) for the first time. Please see below for registration information.

Tips for Writing Successful Fellowship Applications and Grant Proposals

2006-2007 Workshops: November 16, February 6, March 29, and April 11. (2007-2008 workshops TBA.)

In this workshop we'll discuss identifying sources for funding, writing application and proposal narratives, and preparing a budget, budget justification, and other administrative/compliance paperwork; characteristics that distinguish successful proposals; the common mistakes found in unsuccessful proposals; and GSAS resources to help you in proposal preparation. We'll also briefly discuss the special funding available from major funding agencies for graduate student/trainees, post-docs, junior faculty, and mid-career scholars/scientists.
