BREAKING NEWS!

The Office of Government and Community Affairs invites you to a reception and information session on summer congressional internship opportunities in Lerner Hall's Broadway Room on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm!

The session will include an overview of available resources as well dates and deadlines for application.  The event will also serve as an opportunity to meet and network with students who participated in internships in Washington, DC and elsewhere last summer.  Refreshments and hors d' oeuvres will be served.

A congressional internship is an excellent opportunity for you to gain valuable knowledge and exposure to the many facets of government, constituent relations and the procedure, politics and policy of the nation's capital. In the past, students have worked for Senators Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY), John Kerry (D-MA), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), John Cornyn (R-TX) and Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Representatives Rangel (D-NY), Nadler (D-NY) and Davis (R-VA).
  
 

Those students who spent their summer in Washington, D.C. also had the opportunity to attend events hosted by Columbia University, such as meetings and photo-ops with prominent CU alumni and elected officials.
