6th Annual Food Drive Campaign
October 10, 2011 - November 15, 2011On October 10, 2011, the Office of Government and Community Affairs announced its 6th Annual Food Drive. Since its inception, the Food Drive has collected and provided more than 1,100 lbs. of canned and packaged food items to local food pantries. The drive has expanded from simply a GCA effort collecting enough food to contribute to one pantry, to a Low Library wide initiative, collecting enough so that last year we were able to contribute to three.
This year demand is at an all-time high at food pantries across the City as more families are seeking food assistance during these tough economic times. Pantries are struggling to keep their shelves stocked amid increasing demand and soaring food costs. You can make a difference! Please join us in our effort to meet our goal and expand our reach even further this year, with providing four food banks with over 1,000 lbs. of food this holiday season. Remember, the more we collect the more food we can supply.
You can donate your canned and packaged food items at the following locations:
Low Library Room 309
Low Library Room 302
John Jay Dining Hall
