Volunteering

Columbia’s School of General Studies raises almost $300,000 in current-use gifts each year from its approximately 13,000 alumni. Every gift is important and makes a difference to students at GS today and to preserving the GS opportunity for future students.

Volunteer involvement is critical to sustaining and growing the GS Annual Fund. There are a number of ways in which volunteers may be involved:

GS Associates
The GS Associates program recognizes the GS Annual Fund’s most generous donors through special communications and events

GS Annual Fund Event Volunteers
Outreach is key to ensuring that GS alumni and friends stay connected. GS Annual Fund Events will be held from time-to-time to thank current donors for their support of the school.

As a GS Annual Fund Event Volunteer, you will host a cocktail reception or luncheon event with the Dean, Columbia faculty member, or current GS student to thank donors for their generosity and update them on happenings at the school.

Share Your GS Story
GS changed the lives of many of its graduates. Let us know how it changed your life by sharing your story and serving as a signatory for an annual fund appeal letter or e-mail.
