STUDENT PROBES
The activities are loaded to one side of the site. This is due to the location of the existing overhead rail tracks. The central village plaza is attached to this wall.
At a probe scale I have looked in detail at some of the activities which could be programmed into one of the public plaza spaces.
This market place will accommodate several different events which will vary according to the different seasons, times and days of the week.
Some of the activities and events for this plaza might include a crafts market for the weekends, a circus, a forum for concerts or speeches, a parking lot, a space where the Puerto Rican parade can terminate for celebration, a water table during the summer, an Ice Skating rink during the winter, cafes and cabarets for the evenings as well as loft spaces for workshops and living.
This transformed wall will be porous to let the world pass through, so that is possible to discover what this community has to offer.
