Reliance Homes
Prefab Home Series.
This hoisting machine demonstrates how the
sections of the houses are lifted into place. Five-man crew
erected four complete homes in one day. This production feat was
accomplished by Reliance Homes, Inc., local distributors for
these dwellings, which were fabricated at Lester, Pennsylvania.

Two hours after trucks of Reliance
Homes, Inc., Lester, Pa. rolled up in front of a vacant site,
this family was ready to move into the modern, six-room dwelling
now standing on the lot. Not to be confused with so-called
prefabricated homes, the Reliance Home is built in seven finished
sections, each a complete unit assembled at the plant. The home,
which sells for $8,950, is built on the principle of a battleship
with a rigid steel structure and an exterior sheathed in
aluminum.

Pictured is one of the seven units of the Reliance Home
being anchored to the foundation prior to the welding of the
individual units into one. Two hours after trucks of Reliance
Homes, Inc., Lester, Pa., rolled up to the vacant lot, a modern,
six-room dwelling was virtually ready for occupancy. The first
factory-built dwelling ever to receive a class A report by the
FHA's technical division, it may be the answer to one of
America's foremost problems. The sturdy home is listed at
$8,950.
