M.A. in East Asian Languages and Cultures Regional Studies: East Asia (East Asian Institute) LSMA in East Asian Studies

Language East Asian language skills helpful but not necessary for Admittance. For degree, student must develop third year proficiency in an East Asian language. This department teaches all three East Asian languages up to the fifth year level. The department also teaches Tibetan. Must develop third year proficiency in EA language or second year proficiency in SE Asian language. None required (other than English); up to six points of credit may be given for language study at the 3000 level or above.
