The Departments of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics cooperate in offering the students in their Ph.D. programs a graduate program in Applied Mathematics. The program centers on the mathematics originating from and applied to the various fields of physical sciences and engineering, and it offers its participants a sharper mathematical focus. Interested students should consult a member of the committee at an early stage of their graduate careers or see the chair of the committee, Professor C. K. Chu, Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics, 202 Seeley W. Mudd.
