Reunion Provisions for Those Who Observe the Jewish Sabbath

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences has made an effort to accommodate the needs of those reunion participants who observe the Jewish Sabbath.

Reunion Schedule Overview

Please see our Events page for information about specfic reunions.

Friday: Each Reunion begins with a reception in the late afternoon or early evening.

Saturday: On Saturday, there will be a light breakfast (coffee, pastries, juice), followed by reunion programming. After a break for lunch, further reunion events take place

Please consult your invitation for a complete listing of your reunion's schedule.

Kosher Meals

Barnard cafeteria offers a kosher dinner on Friday evening and a kosher lunch on Saturday. Please contact Barnard Dining Services for up-to-date information about arrangements for kosher meals, including location, times of meals and information about payment by check in advance.

Ramath Orah, an orthodox synagogue at 550 West 110th Street (located on the south side of the street, between Broadway and Amsetrdam, nearer to Broadway), sometimes offers meals. Ramath Orah may be reached at 212.222.2470.

Shabbat Services

Shabbat services are held at both the Kraft Center for Jewish Life at 606 West 115th Street, which houses Columbia/Barnard Hillel (t: 212.854.5111; web: http://www.hillel.columbia.edu), and Congregation Ramath Orah (t:212.222.2470).
