The Academic Ethics column is written by a group of graduate deans and graduate students in response to GSAS students' questions about ethical dilemmas and concerns in research, teaching, and academic conduct.

The questions and answers are then posted here without revealing any information about the source of the question; identities remain anonymous. This column is not meant to replace the excellent mentoring and advising that occurs between graduate faculty and their students in GSAS. Instead, we provide you with policies, resources, and ideas to consider as you seek to make responsible decisions about academic and research conduct in your graduate student career and beyond.
