Students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences are permitted to enroll in courses in the School of Continuing Education Summer Session. Of particular interest to GSAS students are intensive language courses. Students enrolled in GSAS (except those in part-time, free-standing M.A. programs) may not earn Residence Unit credit during the summer. However, tuition paid for courses applicable to the graduate degree as approved by the department and the GSAS Office of Financial Aid may be deducted from the cost of a Residence Unit or Extended Residence in the subsequent fall term. Students will not receive the tuition reduction if they do not complete the summer session course or register for any registration category other than Residence Unit or Extended Residence in the subsequent fall term.
Students on fellowship who wish to take advantage of the reduction must submit applications for the summer tuition credit to the GSAS Office of Financial Aid before taking the course.
